The Amla Co (“we”, “us”) runs theamlaco.in. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email, mobile number and shipping address.
  • Account details: your name and email, and a securely hashed password if you create one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
  • Payment details: payments are handled by Cashfree Payments. We never see or store your full card, UPI or bank details. We only keep the payment reference and method.
  • Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address and browser type) that our hosting provider records for security, and a small cookie that keeps you signed in. Your cart is saved in your own browser.

How we use it

  • To process, ship and support your orders, including GST invoices.
  • To send order and delivery updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp (WhatsApp only if you opt in).
  • To tell you when an out-of-stock product is back, if you asked us to.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run the store, and only what they need: Cashfree (payments), our courier partners (delivery), Vercel and Neon (hosting and database), and Google (only if you choose Google sign-in). We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for as long as Indian tax law requires (currently up to 8 years). Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent for WhatsApp or marketing messages, at any time. Email theamlaco.in@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
